Lynton Tattoo Removal Machine
Here at the FAB Clinic we use the ultimate machine for removing multi-coloured tattoos: The Lynton Lumina Q laser. This tattoo removal laser is listed on the NHS supply chain and is British manufactured and medical CE-marked.. The Lumina Q laser can be used to remove multi-coloured tattoos.
How do we remove your tattoo?
We remove tattoos by using a laser that generates a high powered beam of light in a very short pulse. This very short pulse of light is then absorbed by your tattoo ink particles, causing them to break down into smaller pieces, which then allows your natural immune defences to absorb and dispense of the ink. Over a course of treatments, your tattoo will fade away.
How do we carry out your tattoo removal?
We clean your skin, then pass the laser applicator over your tattoo, you’ll hear a clicking noise as the ink particles shatter. Afterwards, we’ll apply a soothing lotion and if necessary we’ll apply a light dressing. Whilst your tattoo is being removed we’ll give you protective eyewear because of the laser light.
How does it feel having a tattoo removed?
The sensation of the laser is similar to the flick of an elastic band against the skin. It can be a little uncomfortable but tolerable. We may use a cooling device to reduce discomfort.
How will my skin look after the tattoo removal treatment?
An instant whitening is seen after each treatment, but this fades quickly. The area can be tender for a few hours, and red and swollen for up to 48 hours. Some tattoos will form a graze which must be left to heal naturally. The tattoo might not look much different after the first treatment, but then will fade over the following 4 to 8 weeks as the body disperses of the ink.
Can I expect any side effects from my tattoo removal?
Very rarely the skin may become lighter or darker, or even a small blister may form. Change to skin texture and scarring is possible, though this is uncommon, and more likely to happen if grazes aren’t left to heal naturally. There may be loss of the natural tanning ability in the area treated, which usually improves over time.
How many tattoo treatments are necessary?
How long it takes to remove your tattoo depends on the density, colour of inks and age of your tattoo. Amateur tattoos can be easy to remove, taking 1 to 6 treatments. But professionally done tattoos vary a great deal, some can take up to 15 treatments to remove. Treatment sessions are spaced 6 to 10 weeks apart.
How long does each tattoo treatment take?
Your tattoo treatment time varies depending on the size of the tattoo, but generally each treatment is between 10 – 30 minutes.
